Baseball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage lost against Newton two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Heritage Patriots lost 18-1 to the Newton Rams. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Bush, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Heritage and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Newton, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Rockdale County on the 14th. As for Newton, they will be playing at home against Westlake at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Newton is facing Westlake at the right time seeing as Westlake is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
