Baseball Recap: St. Anne-Pacelli Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

St. Anne-Pacelli came out on top against Lakeside School on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Vikings walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Chiefs. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Chiefs back in March, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Nathan Boatner looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Anne-Pacelli's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaycob Veloz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Veloz has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-15 otherwise.

St. Anne-Pacelli's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-16. As for Lakeside School, their defeat ended a 28-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 51-6.

St. Anne-Pacelli does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeside School, they will be playing at home against Patrician Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
