Football Recap: Benzie Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Benzie Central extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the St. Francis Gladiators, falling 56-20. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Gladiators are ranked 86th).

As for St. Francis, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 42.7 points this season.

St. Francis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braxton Lesinski led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and one TD on only five carries, while also catching one score. Those 84 rushing yards gave Lesinski a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Tyler Endres, who threw for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes.

Benzie Central and St. Francis will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Huskies are set to take on their familiar foe Tawas Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Francis will square off against rival Grayling at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
