Soccer Game Preview: Granite Bay vs. Vacaville

The Granite Bay Grizzlies will face off against the Vacaville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Granite Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Tokay a 3-0 shutout. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Tigers are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Granite Bay hit Tokay with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Reese Gotchall, Sophia Siebum, and Camryn Savig.

Meanwhile, Vacaville entered their tilt with Antelope on Tuesday with 13 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 14. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Vacaville's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 45 goals over those nine contests. As for Granite Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Granite Bay suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Vacaville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Granite Bay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
