It's playoff time, and Effingham County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the East Paulding Raiders with a sharp 13-5 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Rebels have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Effingham County got a great performance from Luke Edwards as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over five innings pitched. Edwards has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adam Acel, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ryan Wells, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one run.

The win was the fourth in a row for Effingham County, bringing their record up to 27-5. As for East Paulding, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Effingham County nor East Paulding have any future games scheduled.
