Football Recap: Live Oak Classical Takes a Loss

Live Oak Classical fell victim to First Baptist and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Saints 45-0. The Falcons lost against the Saints in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-49 score last time.

Dylan Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for First Baptist, throwing for 230 yards and four touchdowns. What's more, Jones racked up nine rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Live Oak Classical's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for First Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Live Oak Classical will venture away from home to square off against Mercy Culture Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. The Falcons' defense better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 36.7 points per game this season. As for First Baptist, they will take on Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight.
