Softball Recap: Newell-Fonda Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Kingsley-Pierson typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Newell-Fonda proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Newell-Fonda's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Kingsley-Pierson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-9.

Coming up, Newell-Fonda will square off against Woodbine on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Kingsley-Pierson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
