Soccer Game Preview: Clovis West vs. Clovis North

Clovis West hasn't had much luck against Clovis North recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Clovis West Golden Eagles will challenge the Clovis North Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Clovis West's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Clovis North's offense will have their work cut out for them.

If Clovis North heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Clovis West took over last week. Clovis West never let Clovis onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in January, Clovis North was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Buchanan finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Clovis West's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. Clovis North's draw makes their record 12-4-4 this season.

Clovis West skirted past Clovis North 1-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis West since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
