Football Recap: Del Sol Takes a Loss

Del Sol fell victim to Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Pirate, falling 55-0. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Pirate are ranked 19th).

Tautai Malauulu threw for 62 yards on five of 19 attempts. Kingston Walker was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards.

A big part of Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon's win came down to the chemistry between Cade Hoshino and his top target Brandon Quaglio. Hoshino threw for 251 yards and four TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes while Quaglio picked up 139 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Quaglio was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Wilson Jr., who gained 97 total yards and a touchdown.

Del Sol's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Del Sol wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-0 loss against Sierra Vista on the 26th. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-0 win against Spring Valley on the 26th.
