Basketball Recap: Bishop Carroll Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Bishop Carroll hadn't done well against Penn Cambria recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bishop Carroll Huskies enjoyed a cozy 58-39 win over the Penn Cambria Panthers. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 62-54 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adelyn Myers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Thanks to that strong game, Myers now owns an excellent 45% shooting accuracy. Ava Pablic was another key player, putting up 18 points and five rebounds.

Bishop Carroll was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Beard, who posted six points. Beard is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rachel Fisher, who put up eight points.

Bishop Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Penn Cambria, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

As for Penn Cambria, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bishop McCort at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Bishop McCort will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Penn Cambria surely won't give up without a fight.
