Football Game Preview: St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats vs. Satsuma Gators

The St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Satsuma Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Luke's Episcopal's defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so Satsuma's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, St. Luke's Episcopal made easy work of Bayshore Christian and carried off a 43-20 win. The Wildcats pushed the score to 36-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Luke's Episcopal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jathan Richardson, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD on only five carries, and also caught one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 50 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Cameron Roberts, who rushed for 114 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Luke's Episcopal was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 226 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Satsuma scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 47-21 to Orange Beach. The loss leaves the Gators still looking for their first win of the season.

St. Luke's Episcopal now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Satsuma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

St. Luke's Episcopal was taken down by Satsuma 35-3 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 35-3.
