Soccer Recap: Wilton Comes Up Short

If Wilton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Davenport West last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Beavers came up short against the Prairie Hawks on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Wilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Prairie are ranked 16th).

Wilton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10-2 record this season. As for Prairie, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2-1.

Wilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prairie, they will head out on the road to challenge Pleasant Valley on Thursday. Pleasant Valley's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Prairie's offense will have their work cut out for them.
