Recap: North East Grape Pickers vs. Seneca Bobcats
The North East Grape Pickers came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 36-31 victory over Seneca. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North East also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Alexandra Cozzens, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of North East's points. Samantha Probst was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
North East's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Seneca, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North East will take on Fort LeBoeuf at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Seneca, they will be playing at home against Meadville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meadville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
