Basketball Recap: Mt. Shasta Comes Up Short

Mt. Shasta and Anderson faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Thursday. The Mt. Shasta Bears took a 38-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anderson Cubs. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Payten Ford, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 26 rebounds for Anderson. Ford has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last five times she's played. Taylor Ford was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 18 boards.

Mt. Shasta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Anderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Mt. Shasta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-17 loss against Las Plumas on the 20th. As for Anderson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-43 defeat against Durham on the 20th.
