The Hobart Brickies will challenge the Hammond Morton Governors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Hobart gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They took down Hanover Central 42-23.

Aleks Tatum was his usual excellent self, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 157 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Miles White, who rushed for 73 yards and one score on only five carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hobart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanover Central only rushed for 121.
Hobart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bryce Tolliver and Nathan Sobczynski. Sobczynski got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hammond Morton). They blew past Hammond Central, posting a 76-0 victory. The Governors' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three games.
Hammond Morton's win came from a few key players Hobart will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amari Price, who threw for 160 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Ameer Daniels was another key player, picking up 104 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Hammond Morton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for Hobart, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Hobart has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hammond Morton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 157.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Hobart couldn't quite finish off Hammond Morton when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 61-58. Thankfully for the Brickies, Dashawn Woods (who picked up 210 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 175 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
