Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Owls vs. Shalhevet Firehawks

The Oakwood Owls will take on the Shalhevet Firehawks in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Oakwood's tournament run continued when they took on Palisades on Friday. Oakwood took a hard 61-43 fall against Palisades.

Meanwhile, Shalhevet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 47-31 bruising from Campbell Hall. While losing is never fun, the Firehawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Vikings are ranked 210th).

Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Shalhevet, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
