Volleyball Recap: Newark Catholic Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newark Catholic entered their tilt with Northridge on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Green Wave also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Newark Catholic walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-10, 25-18.

Sydney Gummer paced Newark Catholic's offense, picking up ten kills. Gummer got some help from Natalie Harrington and her 15 assists. Layla Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Newark Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Northridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newark Catholic will face off against rival Zanesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Northridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
