Recap: Mira Monte Lions vs. San Bernardino Cardinals
The Mira Monte Lions's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They had to suffer through a rough 59-31 loss at the hands of San Bernardino. While losing is never fun, Mira Monte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1265th, while San Bernardino is ranked 618th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Bernardino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Scarlett Jacques , who scored 18 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jacques has scored at least 25% of San Bernardino's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laniah Porter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Mira Monte are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for San Bernardino, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Mira Monte and Golden Valley will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Golden Valley is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for San Bernardino, they will head out on the road to face off against Dana Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dana Hills is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
