For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Brookfield and New Milford meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Bobcats blew past the Green Wave, posting a 50-21 victory. Considering the Bobcats have won six games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Matt Ackerly and Tyler Buttendorf. Ackerly gained 190 total yards and three touchdowns while Buttendorf gained 173 total yards and three touchdowns. Ackerly's longest rush was for an incredible 96 yards. John Lopes was in the mix as well, providing Brookfield with one score.

Brookfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Greyson Rezac and Jerry Patry. Brookfield received some extra help from Lopes, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Despite the loss, New Milford still got an impressive performance from Tj Ruedemann, who picked up 185 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Brookfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games. As for New Milford, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
