Baseball Recap: Hardaway Has No Trouble Against Sumter County

Hardaway won the last time they faced Sumter County and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Hardaway Hawks' way against the Sumter County Panthers as the Hardaway Hawks made off with a 17-6 win. Considering the Hawks have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tristan Jackson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Christian Eleby was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-4.

Hardaway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sumter County only posted a batting average of .227.

Hardaway's record is now 9-4. As for Sumter County, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hardaway will face off against Manchester at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hardaway is facing Manchester at the right time seeing as Manchester is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Sumter County, they will square off against Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumter County has given up an average of 18.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
