It was a good run, but McConnellsburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 56-33 to the Everett Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since December 3, 2024.
Everett was led to victory by Addison Wood and Jade Colledge. Wood dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards, while Colledge went 7 of 15 on her way to 19 points and three steals. What's more, Colledge also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kirstin Feathers, who posted two points and nine rebounds.
McConnellsburg's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for Everett, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McConnellsburg will venture away from home to square off against Shalom Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Shalom Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Everett, they will challenge Tussey Mountain at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Tussey Mountain will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Everett surely won't give up without a fight.
