Baseball Recap: Jordan Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Jordan entered their tilt with Kendrick on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cherokees get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. Considering the Red Jackets have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kade Evans made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Glenn Edmondson and Bradley Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Edmondson got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Smith scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Smith has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was John Dollar, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jordan pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kendrick, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jordan will host Hardaway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kendrick, they will be playing at home against Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
