Torres entered their tilt with Justin Garza on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Justin Garza Guardians 53-39. Given the Toros' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Guardians are ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Justin Garza's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyla Maxey, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenya Newsome, who earned ten points.

Torres' victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Justin Garza, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3.
