Baseball Recap: Covenant Academy Has No Trouble Against Twiggs Academy

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Covenant Academy brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over the Twiggs Academy Trojans on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Covenant Academy got a massive performance out of Seth Daugherty, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Daugherty is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Bartow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

Covenant Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .839. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-10. As for Twiggs Academy, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Covenant Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
