Softball Recap: Thunderridge's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

ThunderRidge's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Smoky Hill Buffaloes with a sharp 17-2 win. With that victory, the Grizzlies brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Haley Ortega looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Leah Barbee was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Tickle, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

ThunderRidge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .706. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

ThunderRidge moved to 3-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Smoky Hill, their record now sits at 5-7.

ThunderRidge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-4 victory against Regis Jesuit on the 15th. As for Smoky Hill, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-5 loss against Cherry Creek on the 13th.
