Baseball Game Preview: Randolph Ghosts vs. Lyndon Institute Vikings

Randolph is 1-6 against Lyndon Institute since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ghosts will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Neither Randolph nor Lyndon Institute posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Randolph is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Thetford Academy, who was ranked third at the time (Randolph was ranked 25th). The Ghosts came up short against the Panthers on Saturday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Ghosts were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Lyndon Institute had just enough and edged out North Country Union 2-1 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Lyndon Institute's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Randolph, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-6.

Randolph couldn't quite get it done against Lyndon Institute in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 11-6. Can the Ghosts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
