Basketball Game Preview: Vistamar Vikings vs. Geffen Academy Bruins

Having just played yesterday, the Vistamar Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Geffen Academy Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Vistamar will head into Tuesday's game on the come-up: they were handed a 45-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 29-26 victory over Hawthorne Math & Science Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since November 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, Geffen Academy humbled Avalon with a 66-11 victory.

Vistamar's record is now 5-2. As for Geffen Academy, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Things could have been worse for Vistamar, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-34 loss to Geffen Academy when the teams last played back in February. Can Vistamar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
