Softball Recap: Resurrection Christian Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Resurrection Christian duked it out with Montezuma-Cortez on Saturday. The Cougars came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 10-5.

Jailah Hamilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Savannah Johnson was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Layne Tucker also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Resurrection Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Resurrection Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Resurrection Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-14 loss against Strasburg on the 9th. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-5 defeat against Durango on the 9th.
