Basketball Recap: West Branch Takes a Loss

West Branch lost against Tussey Mountain back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The West Branch Warriors were dealt a 46-12 loss at the hands of the Tussey Mountain Titans. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tussey Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karah Husick, who posted six points along with six assists and three steals. Husick has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyson Weyandt, who earned seven points along with five boards and three steals.

West Branch is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Tussey Mountain, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Branch and Juniata Valley will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tussey Mountain will take on Claysburg-Kimmel in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
