Baseball Recap: Landmark Christian Victorious

On Thursday, the Landmark Christian War Eagles earned a 7-4 victory over the King's Ridge Christian Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the War Eagles.

Taylor Casson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Landmark Christian is undefeated when Casson posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Niles Redrick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

Landmark Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Landmark Christian's record is now 5-6. As for King's Ridge Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Coming up, Landmark Christian will square off against Paideia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for King's Ridge Christian, they will challenge Forsyth Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
