The South Elgin Storm will face off against the Bartlett Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South Elgin gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Schaumburg 10-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Storm.
Kyle Iott looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.

On the hitting side, Krish Patel was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Maxwell Aziaka was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
South Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Bartlett came out on top against St. Francis on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Hawks put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 7-1 victory.
Vince Yario made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yario was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Aiden Mertes looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 13 consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Colaizzi, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Raethz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
South Elgin's record is now 23-8. As for Bartlett, their record now sits at 21-10.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. South Elgin has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Bartlett struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Elgin came out on top in a nail-biter against Bartlett when the teams last played back in June of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
