Football Game Preview: Gretna Dragons vs. Platteview Trojans

Two dominant signal callers in Michael Knudsen and Logan Grosdidier are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gretna Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Platteview Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gretna will be strutting in after a victory while Platteview will be coming in after a defeat.

Gretna will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Plattsmouth on Friday. The Dragons came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 35-28. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Bryce Lakers was the offensive standout of the matchup as he picked up 43 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ayden Furstenau handled things on the ground, rushing for 113 yards.

Meanwhile, Platteview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Gretna East and fell 62-21. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Griffins are ranked eighth).

Platteview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Gretna, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Gretna against Platteview in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 51-14 win. In that game, the Dragons amassed a halftime lead of 35-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
