Basketball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

Glendale's last matchup with Washington could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Glendale Cardinals lost 64-40 to the Washington Rams. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Glendale lost, don't look at Michael Palomino. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Palomino has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Simon Sinohui, who posted nine points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Glendale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glendale will square off against La Joya Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they will take on Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
