Football Recap: Friday's Win Is Quinter's Third in Last Four Outings

Quinter lost to Ellis back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 30-20 victory over the Railroaders.

Despite the defeat, Ellis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trenton Schartz rushed for 192 yards and three scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 165 yards on 19 of 40 attempts. Those 192 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Schartz.

Quinter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Ellis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Quinter will face off against Wichita County on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Ellis, they will take on Ness City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Railroaders will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
