Softball Game Preview: South Effingham Mustangs vs. Creekview Grizzlies

The South Effingham Mustangs will head out to square off against the Creekview Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

South Effingham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Jackson County get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Meanwhile, Creekview faced Veterans in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Grizzlies blew past the Warhawks 12-4. Creekview's victory was all the more impressive since the Warhawks were averaging only 3.76 runs allowed on the season.

Creekview's win bumped their record up to 27-5. As for South Effingham, their victory bumped their record up to 24-3.

South Effingham might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Creekview in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
