Basketball Recap: Palmdale Academy Charter School Comes Up Short

If Palmdale Academy Charter School was riding high fresh off their 56-27 takedown of SEED: LA last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Palmdale Academy Charter School Jaguars were outmatched by the Desert Christian Knights and fell 44-9. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.

Leading Desert Christian to victory were Makenzie Duffee and Corynn Smith. Duffee posted 11 points along with five steals and five blocks, while Smith went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points along with five boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Duffee is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayde Mckinzie, who put up five points and six steals.

Palmdale Academy Charter School's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Desert Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Palmdale Academy Charter School will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Desert at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Desert Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-22 victory against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy on the 17th.
