Softball Recap: Gilman City Comes Up Short

Gilman City came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Cainsville Redmen by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redmen earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Gilman City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alli Burke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Gilman City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cainsville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilman City will head out to square off against Mercer at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cainsville, they will venture away from home to face off against Pattonsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
