Baseball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Monarchs vs. Colonial Heights Minuteman

Meadowbrook hasn't had much luck against Colonial Heights recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Monarchs will venture away from home to face off against the Minuteman at 6:00 p.m. Meadowbrook has given up an average of 16.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Meadowbrook fell victim to Prince George and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 19-0 to the Royals. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Monarchs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meadowbrook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jefferson Cruz Espinal, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Cruz Espinal has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Colonial Heights waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Blue Devils as they made off with an 11-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Minuteman, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Colonial Heights' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Meadowbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Meadowbrook might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Colonial Heights when the teams last played back in April. Can the Monarchs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
