Baseball Recap: Central Christian Triumphs

Central Christian posted their closest victory since April 17, 2025 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Peachtree Academy Panthers.

Kason Davis made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick DiCicco, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Central Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tucker Handley, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Central Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Peachtree Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Central Christian will face off against Holy Ground Baptist Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Peachtree Academy, they will challenge Covenant Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
