It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Buena had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Horizon Huskies with a sharp 81-60 win. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Buena's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Welker, who went 8-for-9 en route to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamin Booker, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards.

Despite the defeat, Horizon had strong showings from Brennan Korn, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 22 points, and Ethan Hayes, who posted 16 points. Horizon is 6-2 when Korn posts 15 or more points, but 9-10 otherwise. Parker Burke was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Buena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points over those games. Horizon's loss dropped their record down to 15-12.

Buena didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-60 defeat against Canyon View on the 28th. Horizon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
