Recap: Coastal Academy Stingrays vs. Foothills Christian Knights
If the Coastal Academy Stingrays were riding high off their 49-4 takedown of the King-Chavez Community Lions last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Coastal Academy fell 39-30 to Foothills Christian on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coastal Academy in their matchups with Foothills Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Coastal Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Heiress Afalava, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 50% of Coastal Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was London Afalava, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Coastal Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Foothills Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coastal Academy will take on Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Foothills Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Guajome Park Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
