            Softball Recap: Gunnison Cowboys vs. Meeker Cowboys        
        
		
        
        
            Gunnison was the  6-4 winner over Meeker when they last played one another  on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. Gunnison took  an  11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Meeker on Friday.
  McKayla Singer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Josie Vollendorf, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
Gunnison has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record  this season. As for Meeker, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 5-13.
 Looking ahead, Gunnison will square off against Aspen at 2:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Skiers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.77  runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Meeker, they have already played their next contest,  a  16-1  win against Battle Mountain on the 6th.
