Softball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

David Emanuel Academy entered their tilt with Trinity Christian on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Crusaders. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 12-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rayleigh Faircloth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Scott, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Lexie Starley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

David Emanuel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. David Emanuel Academy will host Pinewood Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Twiggs Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
