Basketball Recap: Simon Gratz's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Simon Gratz came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They greeted the New Year with with a 61-47 victory over the Samuel Fels Panthers. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Simon Gratz to victory were Alana Wilkerson and Zakkiyah Lucas. Wilkerson posted 27 points, while Lucas earned 23 points. With that strong performance, Wilkerson is now averaging an impressive 17 points per game.

Simon Gratz's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-1. As for Samuel Fels, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
