Baseball Game Preview: Lee County Trojans vs. Cairo Syrupmakers

The Lee County Trojans will take on the Cairo Syrupmakers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lee County lost 14-3 to Lowndes on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Lee County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Barnes, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cairo scored first but ultimately less than Valdosta in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 17-7. The Syrupmakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lee County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cairo, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Lee County came out on top in a nail-biter against Cairo in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, sneaking past 7-5. Will Lee County repeat their success, or does Cairo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
