Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial fell victim to Santiago and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Centennial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Avalos, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Centennial has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Santiago, they moved to 16-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Centennial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
