Football Game Preview: Old Bridge Knights vs. Morristown Colonials

The Old Bridge Knights will challenge the Morristown Colonials at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morristown took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Old Bridge, who comes in off a win.

Old Bridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat East Brunswick 48-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Bears are ranked 275th).

Meanwhile, Morristown came up short against Mount Olive on Saturday, falling 41-17. Despite 65 more yards than the Marauders, the Colonials couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Old Bridge will have to contain Jasiah Brown as he made an impact in Morristown's last game. He picked up 212 receiving yards and one TD. Brown's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Kenneth Sharperson was another key player, gaining 94 total yards.

The win made it two in a row for Old Bridge and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points in those games. As for Morristown, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Old Bridge couldn't quite get it done against Morristown when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 14-7. Thankfully for the Knights, Reed Donegan (who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
