Softball Recap: Habersham Central Takes a Loss

If Habersham Central was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Alcovy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Commerce Tigers by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2019.

Habersham Central has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Commerce, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Habersham Central will head out to challenge Winder-Barrow at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Commerce, they will challenge Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
