Baseball Game Preview: Lakeview Wildcats vs. Kent City Eagles

The Lakeview Wildcats will head out to square off against the Kent City Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lakeview and Big Rapids meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Wildcats lost 17-0 to the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Kent City came up short against North Muskegon on Saturday and fell 6-1. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Norsemen: they've now lost four in a row.

Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-23. As for Kent City, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Lakeview skirted past Kent City 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
