Basketball Game Preview: Virtus Academy Wolves vs. Cheraw Braves + How To Watch

The Virtus Academy Wolves will square off against the Cheraw Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Virtus Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Hannah-Pamplico on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolves lost 54-33 to the Raiders. The Wolves were down 45-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Cheraw came up short against Catawba Ridge on Tuesday, falling 61-39.

Virtus Academy will have to contain Elijah McClain as he made an impact in Cheraw's last game. He went 6-for-13 en route to 21 points. That was a full 53.8% of Cheraw's points, marking the third time in a row McClain has posted more than a third of the team's points. Jabian Quick was another key player, putting up five points and eight rebounds.

Cheraw now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Virtus Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
